The New RunningLane Races of 2019
2019 has been a big year for RunningLane, our coaching team is now conquering from both ends of the country in Bend, Oregon and Huntsville, AL and that has allowed us to expand our event locations. This year we have added three new events to our late summer and fall calendar. Take a peak at what new things we have to offer.
Timberjack Ultra: 30k/100k (Bend, OR)

Experience the Trail Running Capital of North America! Ponderosa and lodgepole pines line the course as you roll along ancient volcanoes and the Deschutes River valley. Start and finish along the Cascade Lakes Scenic Byway in the shadow of the majestic Mount Bachelor. The 100k course is a UTMB qualifying course and features 6500+ ft of elevation gain. The 30k features 2000+ ft of elevation gain over a single-loop course and consists of the larger loop of the 100k course, shown to the east of the starting area. Both courses start and finish at the Wanoga Sno-Park and pass the Deschutes River valley.
The course is a championship caliber, three-lap loop course in a contained, family-friendly package.
Conquer the Cave 5k (Woodville, AL)

Ever want to run a 5k through a cave? Now you can at Cathedral Caverns State Park. The race starts on the roads outside of the beautiful state park property. Once runners get to the 1.9 mile mark they will enter the crown jewel of caves in the Southeast. The portion of the 5k course that runs through the cave is an out and back 0.6mi that is wide enough for 2 way traffic. Runners will pick up a glow stick at the turn around point and the decorative lighting will be on at all times. The average temperatures for race day are a low of 54F, high of 79F. Meanwhile inside the cave the year round temperature is a cool 58F. This will truly be a race like no other.

Cathedral Caverns Trail Race: 5k/15k (Woodville, AL)

In case one 5k through a cave wasn’t enough, we wanted to make sure our trail runners had equal opportunity to enjoy Cathedral Caverns. The race starts in a beautiful valley with picturesque mountains and fields in the background. This trail race is designed for both new and experienced trail runners alike. The last 1.2 miles of the 5k and 15k runs through the cave is an out and back 0.6mi segment that is wide enough for 2 way traffic. Runners will pick up a glow stick at the turn around point and the decorative lighting will be on at all times.
